Gels containing fluoride are applied to children by the pedodontist. Thanks to this application, the teeth become resistant to decay.<\/p>\n<p>Fluoride and fissure sealant applications are recommended for children from the age of 6. <\/p>\n<p>Fissure sealant applications are a fluid consistency that covers the chewing surfaces of the teeth and protects the teeth against decay. Studies show that 90% of dental caries start from small, deep and narrow recesses (fissures) on the chewing surfaces of molars. Since the tooth enamel is not fully calcified in the first eruption period, the newly erupted teeth become less resistant to decay. For this reason, Fissure Sealants are recommended to be applied in a short time after the teeth erupt.
