Tooth Decay Formation

Dental caries is the most common and common ailment after a cold. There are bacteria in the normal flora of the mouth. Bacteria convert all nutrients (sugar and starch) into acids. Bacteria, acid, food residues and saliva combine to form a plaque that clings to the tooth. Bacteria, acid, food residues and saliva combine to form a plaque that clings to the tooth. Acids in the bacterial plaque cause the enamel surface to dissolve and create grooves and cavities on the tooth. Cavities are usually painless before they are deep enough to reach the internal structures of the tooth.

20 minutes after a meal is the period when plaque and bacteria activation is most intense. Sugars and starchy foods (carbohydrates) increase the risk of tooth decay. Sticky foods are harmful because they stay on the tooth surface. Frequent snacking increases the risk of tooth decay as it increases the contact time of the tooth surface with acids.

SYMPTOMS WHICH TOOTH DECAY

  • Toothache – Especially after sweet, hot, cold foods and drinks
  • The formation of pits and grooves on the tooth
  • Tooth abscess
  • Broken teeth
  • Tooth sensitivity
  • Inability to chew on teeth

Contrary to common belief, we should brush our teeth at least half an hour after meals or acidic drinks, not immediately. Because acidic and sugary foods make tooth surfaces suitable for wear. While the teeth have this sensitivity, we should not increase the abrasion on the tooth surface with brush strokes.

DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT OF DENTAL CARE

Tooth decays can be detected early in the routine oral examination. Dental x-ray film helps to detect interface caries.

TREATMENT OF DENTAL CARIES

Once lost tooth tissue does not form again, but its progress can be stopped with treatment and the lost tissue is restored with filling materials. The main purpose of the treatment is to protect the tooth and improve the complaints. Early treatment of tooth decay is both easier and cheaper than treating an advanced decay. Local anesthesia can be applied to avoid pain while cleaning the caries. . Ideally, the best way to prevent dental caries is to learn proper oral hygiene.
