Orthodontic Treatment by Age Groups

Children’s Orthodontics

Most of our patients have treatments that take an average of 1.5 years and have started recently for the eruption of all permanent teeth However, in some cases, treatments can start as of the age of 6 years of age teeth. In such cases where the growth development period should be followed, long-term orthodontic treatment processes can be followed by including follow-up periods rather than active treatment.

Adult Orthodontics

In many patients, orthodontic treatments are carried out in order to achieve the best aesthetics before a very short (1-3 months) and aesthetic-prosthetic treatments. Apart from that, routine orthodontic treatments take up to 1.5 years.

Corrections of Jaw Bones in Adults

In adults, the support of surgical branches may be needed in solving the problems related to the jaw bones (for example, the lower jaw being very prominent). However, in these cases, the treatment can be completed in 1.5 – 2 years. In the orthodontic treatment process, the wrong position in the jawbone is corrected with an operation performed under general anesthesia by a maxillofacial surgeon at a stage deemed appropriate by your orthodontist. Patients need a rest period of about 1 week after jaw surgery.
